WHY YOU SHOULD GET AIR CONDITIONING?
Ingenious methods to bring cool air into dwellings was first thought of by the ancient Egyptians by hanging wet reeds on windows to blow cool air in and then as early as the 2nd century by the Chinese inventing a fan manually driven by prisoners and then by the Arabs who invented the idea of wind towers, though they were all ideas to cool a particular room it was nowhere near what we call air conditioning today.
Air conditioning is no more a luxury which was the case when it was first introduced in the early 20th century by American inventor Willis Carrier who went on to make a name for himself in the air conditioning world.
Today air conditioning has four types that are popularly used and they are the very large industrial units which we call central air conditioning, a smaller unit with a similar concept called ducted air conditioning, the more smarter, practical and affordable split system air conditioning and the cheaper and noisy compact window air conditioning.
All these systems bring comfort during summer when the heat is unbearable and the humidity is high and it could be very much more if you happen to be indoors without much ventilation, not that ventilation would help because the ambient temperatures would also be in the high 40 to 50 degrees Centigrade or even more.
Noiseless air conditioning
Ducted air conditioning is noiseless and employs refrigerant gas to bring cool air into the specified room or area with an outdoor unit and an indoor unit that are connected by rubber and tape insulated copper refrigerant pipes.
The indoor unit of ducted air conditioning is discreetly concealed in the ceiling with flexible ducts connecting and supplying multiple rooms with cool air.
Each room would have its own thermostat control and this is a major benefit in ducted air conditioning which allows individually preferred levels of cooling in each room or area.
The outdoor unit of the ducted air conditioning would be placed at a convenient distance and outside the building ensuring that its noise does not disturb those inside.
Though supplying cool air to multiple rooms ducted air conditioning has the benefit of switching off any rooms that are not in use and only those in use can be air conditioned which would save on electricity.
The return air that is sucked whilst cool air is being discharged would take away any minute foreign particles that would be present in the room whereby creating a cleaner environment within the room.
These particles would collect in the filter which is in the ceiling concealed indoor unit of the ducted air conditioning which should be cleaned regularly, to ensure it is clean air that is blown into the room and also ensuring that the indoor unit works at optimum efficiency.
Installing an air conditioning system in your home or office would give you total comfort during the hot summer months and allow you to attend to your important chores whilst at home or office. Contact a local Melbourne interior design expert for more advice.
